Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Sami Brady’s (Allison Sweeney) recent night of passion with Lucas Horton (Bryan Datillo) will cause problems with her marriage to EJ DiMera (last played by James Scott). In fact, once EJ returns to Salem and finds out about Sami and Lucas, EJ may end their relationship for good. But that doesn’t mean that EJ will be lonely for long. A renewed romance with Nicole Walker (Arianna Zucker) is always a possibility, but there are other options as well. Let’s take a look.

As viewers know, Nicole thought all of her dream came true last year when she finally married Eric Brady. But not long after their honeymoon, Eric was asked to return to his mission work. After talking with Nicole, Eric left. And although Nicole originally agreed that Eric was needed there, she has barely heard a word from him since he left. She’s filled her time helping Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) care for her baby. In the process, she has gotten close to Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) but has denied that she has any romantic feelings for him. But that may change now that Ava Vitale (Tamara Braun) has admitted her own feelings for Rafe.

DOOL Spoilers – Could Nicole Walker Steer Ava Vitale In EJ DiMera’s Direction?

If Nicole does in fact decide she wants to be with Rafe, she may face some stiff competition from Ava. But perhaps EJ might be the answer to Nicole’s problems. If EJ does indeed leave Sami, Nicole might decide to play matchmaker by setting up Ava and EJ. This would clear room for Nicole to be with Rafe. But would there be sparks between Ava and EJ? On paper, they seem like a pretty good match but would they have any chemistry in person?

Both EJ and Ava come from criminal families. They have both struggled with doing the right thing, and sometimes they don’t quite achieve that goal. Both of them have also been through quite an ordeal the last few years. In fact, their paths may have crossed while in Nashville together as both were recipients of Dr. Rolf’s (William Utay) life-giving serum. EJ almost died escaping from the warehouse in Memphis, and has been recovering from his injuries ever since. Meanwhile, Ava has been dealing with the murder of her son, Charlie Dale (Mike Manning). She was even a suspect in her own son’s murder for a time, as he was rapist. Perhaps EJ and Ava do have a future together as they help each other dealing with all their pain.
