It seems we will get some answers of what happened to him during the one-year time jump. It is teased that Tony is shocked to find out that his own wife betrayed him. But it was for a very good reason.

Tony DiMera’s Dilemma

Before the time jump, Tony had a bit of a dilemma. In need of a new CEO for DiMera Enterprises, Tony was offered the job. It was just supposed to be temporary, but Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) certainly wasn’t happy about it.

DOOL spoilers indicated that Tony originally never wanted any part of the family business. So, it was definitely odd when he took a temporary position. It was later explained that while he was wary of DiMera Enterprises, he also wanted to be able to support Anna DiMera (Leann Hunley)

When Anna first heard about the proposition that was made to Tony, she was livid. She expected him to tell the board that the answer was no. Imagine her surprise when Tony was actually considering taking the job.

Determined to not lose Tony again, especially due to the family business, Anna commits an act of betrayal. We’re not exactly sure what she does but after the time jump, Tony and Anna were gone. Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus) was the new CEO and there was a family feud over stock shares.

So what exactly happened? We will find out soon enough and hopefully, Tony and Anna’s relationship was able to withstand the betrayal.

      Are you surprised Tony betrayed Anna? NO, first of all even without the time jump year that has passed, we’ve not seen Anna or Tony since the summer, even prior to that they had become part-time characters, so who really cares, another stupid move to bring them back only to have them be in conflict, oh, why not, I forgot, there can be no more “happy” couples allowed in Salem
