Days of Our Lives spoilers and updates tease Belle Brady (Martha Madison) finds Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) drunk again and considers legal action. It’s not the legal action of divorce she’s considering, it’s the type to force him to get some help.
Days Of Our Lives Spoilers: Shawn Brady Can’t Forgive Himself
Shawn is drinking away his pain because he can’t forgive himself for shooting his father when he thought he was protecting his mother. From where he and Harris Michaels (Steve Burton) were standing, it looked like Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) was getting ready to push Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso) off a cliff. Harris had assumed Bo was brainwashed like he was, and indeed he had been, but had fought the programming and Megan DiMera’s (Miranda Wilson) orders to kill Kate Brady (Lauren Koslow).
So Shawn was acting like any trained policeman would act, he didn’t know that Hope had talked the real Bo out of himself. But he can’t forgive himself for shooting his father and causing what might be a lifetime coma, and causing his mother such pain.
DOOL Spoilers: Bo Brady Had Not Fully Been Himself, Kayla Johnson Attested
Once Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) was found and rescued, she attested that Bo had not been fully himself. Bo wanted to be not the Brady self but the Kiriakis self, wanting to build an empire like his birth father, Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston). But he had a chip in his brain which was removed after the shooting, and it was invaluable in proving Kate was alive so there was one good result. That chip may never have been discovered had Shawn not shot Bo in the head and the surgery may never have been done. Bo never may have returned to being his true self had that not happened and although he may have revealed Kate was alive, he may not have as well.
Days Of Our Lives Spoilers: Mother Daughter Brainstorm
Belle calls her mother, Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) and the two brainstorm as to how to force Shawn to get some help. Belle thinks a judicial commitment might work but Marlena is not so sure-he hasn’t been proven to be a danger to others or himself other than longterm drinking himself to death. That is what is required for even a forty-eight-hour psych hold, that is for those who are suicidal or clearly showing signs of psychosis or attempts to harm others.
Clearly, Shawn needs help, but how to force him to get it is another story. There doesn’t seem to be any legal action Belle can take, but the family could stage an intervention.
