Dool News -What is ‘Fangirl’ About?

The film explores the relationship between soap stars and fans, which is complicated and has both positives and negatives. The story revolves around a woman named Mercy (Jenn Tullock) who is a small-town soap fan with a crumbling marriage and money troubles. She escapes her real-life issues and attends a soap event in Los Angeles. SoapCentral teased,

“She hopes to meet the object of her intense affection — Days of our Lives’ Blake Berris (who plays a funhouse mirror version of himself) — but ends up getting so much more than she bargained for… Mercy can’t help but believe that she and Blake are soulmates… but unfortunately, there’s often an excruciating discomfort that comes along with fantasy becoming a reality.”

Days of Our Lives News –  Galen Gering Joins Film

Michael Fairman TV reported that Gering has been cast in “Fangirl” as Ethan Cruz, Jr. The character is described to be an extremely popular soap star with a sordid past. It is teased that Ethan will appear at the after-hours VIP party of the fan event and things get pretty crazy.

The casting news comes shortly after Gering hinted in a podcast that could be saying goodbye to DOOL.

DOOL News – Eileen Davidson in New Film

In addition to Gering, Eileen Davidson portrays Katherine, who is considered to be the Queen of Daytime and is a fan-favorite. She is smart, elegant and soulful. She also has no problem putting her co-stars in their place.

Days of Our Lives News –  Shawn Christian’s New Gig

Fans may remember Shawn Christian from Days of Our Lives. He played Dr. Daniel Jonas and is the real-life boyfriend of Arianne Zucker (Nicole Walker, Days). In “Fangirl,” he will be portraying Victor Darling. It is teased that Victor is the star that pulls in all the fans at the event — and has an ego to match.

Just from the description, this sounds like an interesting movie. Berris said that he wanted the scenes to be as authentic as possible, which makes us even more excited to see it!
