Days of our Lives Comings & Goings – Camila Banus Exit Will Be Temporary?

In a monumental twist, Days of Our Lives spoilers tease that Gabi won’t be gone from Horton Square for all that long.  Today Corday Productions announced plans for Banus to be among the cast members called back to filming in September. So while the slinky character will indeed leave Salem at the end of the month it appears that she will return next month when the production once again begins after a long coronavirus included hiatus. The show had enough new content in the can that it never resorted to airing repeats as did the three other American soaps.

When Days of Our Lives returns to filming on or around September 1, it will be able to pick up where it left off, with no gap in original content. Whether or not there are dramatic changes in store now that TPTB has had a long time to rethink plots, is anyone’s guess. This is, after all, the show that broke ground in daytime by leaping forward a whole year in terms of storytelling.

Banus was nominated in 2015 for a Daytime Emmy award in the Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama category, and no doubt she has a lot left in the tank before she leaves daytime.

Days of Our Lives cast member Camila Banus debuted as Gabi in 2010 as a member of the Hernandez family. Over time various Hernandez’s have come and gone and one of them is set to make a return soon. That would be Eduardo Hernandez (A Martinez). He left as a bad guy, will he come back a good guy or an even worse villain?
