Of course, Alex will be totally unaware that Kayla is dying. So, his actions could cost Stephanie and Kayla’s final goodbye. With it being a soap, though, there is another possibility.

It’s possible that Chad will take drastic action after failing to reach Stephanie. Chad could inform Stephanie that Alex intercepted the call about Kayla. However, it would be more interesting if Chad kept quiet. After all, Stephanie’s focus should be on racing to see Kayla before she dies, not her messy love triangle.

Of course, Chad making sure Stephanie gets one final goodbye with Kayla could finally squash this love triangle.
