Days of Our Lives spoilers suggest that Chanel DiMera (Raven Bowens) and Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) have fallen head over heels with their adopted son, Trey DiMera (Joseph Ihlenf and Jordan Perdue).

Another Court Hearing?

Days of Our Lives spoilers for the Monday, February 23 episode indicate that Johnny dropped by the Kiriakis mansion to present a DiMera contract for a book deal to Bonnie Kiriakis (Judi Evans).

Of course, her husband, Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) was there. While they did talk about a lot of different things, including Chanel’s pregnancy, Johnny brought up the fact that the couple’s final adoption hearing was soon.

Johnny asked Justin if there was anything he and Chanel needed to do to prepare, and Justin implied it was a mere formality. But is it?

Trouble For Janel?

Why bring up this final adoption court date unless there is a disaster looming? Nothing is ever “insignificant” in the land of soaps, and nothing is just brought up for no reason.

Days of Our Lives fans know that while the biological father, Aaron Greene (Louis Tomeo), signed away his parental rights to Chanel and Johnny, Sophia Choi (Rachel Boyd) technically didn’t.

Sure, she gave Trey away at the fire station, and the expiry date on claiming the child passed; however, could Sophia declare that she was mentally unstable when she did this?

Could she contest Trey’s adoption as a result? She never wanted Chanel and Johnny to end up with Trey, as they flaked out on her during the initial adoption proceedings.

Could this mean that Chanel and Johnny hit a bump in the road where their adoption of Trey is concerned? Could they stand to lose their eldest child?
