Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Chrishell Stause Talks Mother’s Cancer Diagnosis

Days of Our Lives alum Chrishell Stause (ex-Jordan Ridgeway) opened up about her mother’s terminal cancer diagnosis. On World Cancer Day, which was on February 4, the actress learned that her mom just has months to live. To add to this heartbreaking story, Stause’s father died from the same type of cancer.

On the same day that the world was spreading awareness about cancer, Stause received heartbreaking news. On Instagram, she posted that on the same day, she learned her mom only has one to two months to live. Making the situation even worse is that her mom is dying from the same type of lung cancer that took her father. He passed on Easter.
“I can’t make sense of what life is teaching me yet, but my heart is with every person fighting this horrible disease and every person that it robbed a loved one from.”

Chrishell Stause Staying Positive
The Days of Our Lives alum, who has appeared on many other soaps over the years is trying to stay positive. Earlier this week, she posted a photo on social media. It was a group photo that included Stause, her mom as well as her sister, Sabrina. They were there to give their mom support during her chemotherapy appointment. Despite the grim prognosis, all were smiling and trying to enjoy being in the present.
Days of Our Lives Alum Thankful For Support
Stause has received a lot of prayers, positive thoughts, well wishes and stories from fans and social media followers. The actress commented on all the feedback she has received and is grateful for every single person who has reached out.
According to the American Lung Association, more than 540,000 people in the United States have received a diagnosis of lung cancer at some point in their lives. In fact, it is the most common of all cancers in the world with an estimated 2.1 million new cases in 2018. A total of 1.8 million people died from lung cancer in that same year.
