It is reasonable to assume that the thugs will return. Jake has something that their boss wants. It must be something valuable because they were willing to nearly kill to get it.

If the thugs thought Ben was Jake, then they might also mistake Ciara for the mechanic’s lover. We know there was someone special in Jake’s past and he still thinks of her often. He doesn’t give details, though.

Another sign that Jake’s girlfriend might come back into the picture is Emily O’Brien has been cast in a secret role. It is teased that she might be that special woman from Jake’s past. Could she show up when the thugs are ordered to kidnap Jake’s love interest, but take Ciara instead?

In the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest, Konefal teased that Ciara thinks everything is wonderful. The actress said that is a big sign that things are about to take a terrible turn.

If thugs do take Ciara as a way to get to Jake, then they will be making a big mistake. Ciara’s mother is a former cop, detective, and was the commissioner at one time. Her fiance is a reformed serial killer and used to be head of security for Stefan DiMera. Plus, his father is Clyde Weston (James Read), so Ben really isn’t someone that should be messed with.

Will Ben get answers from Jake if thugs target Ciara? Will he have to go dark again in order to get back the woman he loves? Could Jake’s former flame pop up in Salem and give everyone some answers? We will have to keep watching the NBC soap to see how this story develops.
