They ended up falling in love, even when nearly everyone in Salem tried to interfere in one way or another.

Throughout Ben and Ciara’s relationship, they have always had Chinese food. They even got engaged over the take-out cuisine. It began when Ben tried to take Ciara out on their first official date. He tried taking her to Julie’s Place but Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) refused to serve Ben. They tried several other places and everyone had the same answer. They were open and had tables until they realized it was Ben.

So, they sat on a bench and talked while chowing down on Chinese food, which is why fortune cookies have been significant in the “CIN” dreams following Ciara’s “death.” It turns out it was symbolic for a reason

Fans may remember right after Ciara “died” in the car explosion, Ben began having dreams of her. In a few of those dreams, the fortune cookie was represented. When Ben woke up, there was a fortune cookie on his dresser. For a short time, he thought that Ciara was trying to tell him something and the fortune cookie was the key.
