However, she thought that Ben just didn’t want to have kids with her, which isn’t the case. Ben is concerned about passing on his mental illness to a child.

Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that executive producer Ken Corday teased the fall preview to Soap Opera Digest. It was confirmed that Ben and Ciara’s baby battle would lead to a bigger story.

“Ben has major reservations when Ciara suggests they start a family. His past is so dark and you wouldn’t want that DNA to resurface, so he has reservations. It’s going to be nice to see them calm and without someone trying to blow them up. They are now a more substantial couple, a married couple, but certainly not boring. Them talking about having a baby leads to a much bigger story.”

DOOL Spoilers – Weston Family History

Fans already know all about Ciara’s side of the family. The only thing that has ever been revealed about Ben’s side of the family is Jordan Ridgeway (Chrishell Stause) accidentally killing their mother in a car accident. Jordan kidnapped Ben in order to protect him from his abusive father, Clyde Weston (James Read). Before Jordan’s death, she suffered from psychosis. As for Clyde, even though he was abusive when Ben was a child, he tried to make up for it when they reconnected. As fans know, Clyde is a career criminal and that is about all that was ever revealed.

So, if Ben is so concerned about him having bad DNA, then maybe “CIN” digs into his family history to find out the truth. Does the bad DNA go back generations or did it really just begin with Clyde’s abuse?
