Days of Our Lives spoilers and updates pose the question, was the tainted DiMera drug that killed Destiny Rowland (Sarah Bartholomew) and her sister accident or sabotage?
DiMera Enterprises and those who have run it have made a lot of enemies over the years, and so that’s something to consider.
Sarah Horton Was Upset That She Lost Her Patient
Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) was upset that she lost her patient and spoke to Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans) about it in the episode of June 16.
She told Kayla that she couldn’t find anything wrong with Destiny other than she said she had a bad headache, and she sent her on her way-only to have her collapse and die in the square!
Sarah felt like she had failed Destiny, like there was something that she had to have missed in her examination; however, her autopsy had been inconclusive.
Kayla tried to make her feel better, telling her she did nothing wrong-sometimes these things happen even to the best doctors; but did ask if it could have been an overdose.
Sarah was skeptical since Destiny only brought medication from home and didn’t seem to be under the influence.
Sarah Discovered That Destiny’s Sister Passed Away From An Apparent Overdose
Later, Sarah would discover that Destiny’s sister, Clea, (uncast) passed away in 2024 due to an apparent overdose, although the autopsy results were inconclusive. Liam Selejko (Hank Northrop) was listed as Clea’s emergency contact and next of kin.
Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) and Sarah settled at the Pub, where Sarah opened up about Destiny’s shocking death.
Brady inquired about the blood tests; Sarah said Destiny had a low level of Coresol, the same substance linked to her sister’s demise. Brady asked if that meant it wasn’t enough to be fatal.
Sarah Confirmed The Autopsy Results Were Normal
Sarah confirmed that the autopsy results were normal, leaving her puzzled about the cause of death for both women. Brady noted that her primary symptom was a headache.
Sarah revealed she discovered pain medications that were not prescribed to either her or her sister. Brady speculated that it could have been a contaminated batch of that dangerous drug.
Sarah Acknowledged It Could Be A Possibility
Sarah acknowledged that it was a possibility, but if that were true… Brady interjected, suggesting they couldn’t be the only ones affected.
Sarah pointed out that if there were indeed tainted drugs circulating, there could be additional victims.
She expressed hope that Clea’s boyfriend might have some answers, and asked if Brady manage to locate him; Brady replied that it took him about five seconds to find out.
Liam and his son had moved in with his brother Charlie (uncast) in Brookville, and he had recently bought a new car, indicating he must have come into some money.
Sarah questioned whether this was connected to Destiny’s death-Brady remarked that it certainly seemed suspicious.
The DiMeras Have A Lot Of Enemies
Sarah said she wished that she had the pill bottle, and Brady quipped that perhaps someone had binge-watched Breaking Bad and believed they were experts?
Sarah countered with the possibility of a manufacturing error; Brady then researched the drug’s manufacturer and found that it was made by DiMera Enterprise’s medical division.
The DiMeras have a lot of enemies, and EJ DiMera (Dan Feurreriegel) in particular, although he’s not the head honcho-that is Theo Carver (Joseph Tyler Andrews) now.
But DiMera Enterprises has been infamous for its medical products and devices, such as the “spy eye” that Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) had at one time and the brain chip!
Even now, EJ is heavily involved in Versavix, which was combined with Dr. Wilhelm Rolf’s (Richard Wharton) resurrection serum to bring Lexie Carver (Nikki Crawford) back to life-could someone be sabotaging DiMera drugs?
