“Days our Our Lives” has made the headlines last week after the celebration of its 54th anniversary. However, some of the noise about the show involves rumors that the sudser is being canceled. To clear things up, one of the soap’s writers broke his silence.
“Days of Our Lives” writer, Rick Draughon, took to social media to clarify things regarding the status of the soap. The scribe, who’s been with the show on an off since 2002, shared a post on Facebook.
Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – Days “NOT” Cancelled
First off, he thanked everyone for all the messages. He then proceeded to say that “Days of Our Lives” has not been canceled.
“We’ve completed the season… and will be going on hiatus for a few months just like most of the prime time/streaming shows that you watch. We’ve taped shows that will air through the end of August 2020,” he explained.
“Once NBC picks the show up (and I’m encouraged they will), we will resume writing in January or February… I promise no one is going to miss single sand from Tom or Alice’s hourglass. So, in the meantime, sit back on your couch… and enjoy the insanity that is (and I mean that in a good way) Salem,” he continued.
Apart from DOOL, Draughon was also a member of the writing teams at “Loving,” “Sunset Beach,” and “The Young and the Restless.” He helped create the TV series “Coastal Dreams” back in 2007, which was comprised of 24 episodes.

DOOL Spoilers – Ron Carlivati Speaks Up
The show is set to for an indefinite hiatus at the end of November, but the show will resume and continue for at least eight months. “Days of Our Lives” head writer, Ron Carlivati, told viewers to expect several surprises for the holidays and beyond.
The show will have eight months’ worth of episodes, giving enough time for Sony and Corday Productions to settle their renewal negotiations. Carlivati hinted that fans will be in for a treat and talked about the time jump, which for him is a dream come true.
The time jump, which kicked off last November 11, will bring about several major changes and Carlivati can’t wait for the audience to see it. Although he can’t say that much about what’s going to happen, Carlivati teased that the next couple of months, particularly the holidays, will be filled with scenes they shouldn’t miss.
