Days of our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal some incredible news for fans of the NBC sudser. On Friday, July 23, the show is due to take a temporarily, two-week break from airing programming. No new content, no repeat fare, nothing, nada, zip.

Why? The network is set to air the 2021 Summer Olympics scheduled to take place in Japan.

Viewers should be aware however that the preemption is not a certainty as the Olympics themselves are considered to be by many as questionable. Covid has already cancelled many major 2021 events but the zealous Olympic Committee is voicing determination that the games will go on. Many, many individuals worldwide are taking this declaration with a grain of salt.

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers –  Preempted For Summer Olympics?

Jason47 DAYS website is reporting that network coverage of the event is scheduled to start at 7 am Eastern Standard Time and run through Friday, August 6.

He also made sure to say, “All of this is, of course, pending whether the Summer Olympics goes on as planned later this year.”

The games were originally set to air between July 24 and August 9, 2020 but were delayed due to coronavirus concerns.

DOOL Spoilers  – Let the Games Begin?

If all goes according to plan, fans of the soap should expect an epic cliffhanger guaranteed to hold them on the edge of their seats until the next epi returns.

For example, if the Summer Olympics had aired in 2020, fans would have been treated to the episode in which Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) and Ciara Brady’s (Victoria Konefal) wedding blew up, just before the temporary break occurred.

That episode still aired but there was no Olympics postponement. Will there be one this year? It really is anyone’s guess at this point.
