On Thursday’s episode, Gabi Hernandez (Camila Banus) said she would get tested, although it was clearly not a selfless decision. Could this be her redemption story and a way for her to escape serving time in prison?

DOOL spoilers confirm Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) will suddenly collapse. Around that same time, Gabi makes a confession. The person who ends up placing her under arrest is none other than her own brother, Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering). Although her future looks bleak, could there be a way for her to make things right?

DOOL Spoilers: Playing Matchmaker

For the past few weeks, a lot of Salemites have been seeing if they are a match for baby Mickey. A bone marrow transplant is the only way the baby girl will live. On Thursday’s episode, the conversation turned to Mickey’s cancer and without thinking (and without any real compassion), Gabi said she would get tested. Was this a hint of what is to come?

Bone Marrow Instead of Prison?

Days of Our Lives spoilers suggest Gabi could end up being the unexpected person who is a match for Mickey. This would make sense in a soapy kind of way. After all, she donated Stefan DiMera’s (formerly Brandon Barash) heart to Julie, although she made Lani Price (Sal Stowers) beg for it. She also has a child and deep inside can sympathize with Sarah Horton’s (Linsey Godfrey) agony.

It would also give the writers a way for Gabi to avoid prison time. Perhaps she initially refuses to help Mickey unless a deal is made. She’s gone full DiMera and that would be a very DiMera-esque thing to do.

Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Redemption and a Lesson

However, avoiding prison would not be the only purpose to Gabi being a match for Mickey. It would give her a bit of a redemption story. After everything she has done during the past year, it will be difficult for her to be seen as anything but heartless. Saving an innocent baby could soften the blow of everyone learning about her dirty deeds.

There is also the similarity in the timing of the miracle. Julie received Stefan’s heart literally in the nick of time. It is teased that the same thing will happen with Mickey. The little girl gets her miracle in literally the final hour of her life.

It would also give her a valuable lesson to learn, but something tells us not everyone will be forgiving. What do you think? Could Gabi be the unexpected match that everyone has been waiting for? Should she be given a redemption story? Is it even possible for her to find forgiveness after everything she has done?
