In fact, many fans can’t help but wonder why Camila Banus didn’t make the list of nominations for this year, seeing how she has kept fans talking all year long thanks to her exciting portrayal as the feisty and sometimes even ferocious Gabi Hernandez DiMera. Even though there are plenty a dozen more, here are three of the top reasons why Camila deserves a Daytime Emmy.

#1 The Heat, The Passion And The Chemistry With Brandon Barash

While there are plenty of couples who have managed to excite with all of their action between the sheets, Camila Banus and Brandon Barash has done an exceptional job making Gabi DiMera and Stefan DiMera’s relationship the rollercoaster ride that it has been. From absolutely hating each other and all of the vicious fights they had to fall in love and Camila mourning the devastating loss of her husband, Gabi and Stefan have fast become one of DOOL’s most liked couples.

If that weren’t enough, they are also incredibly sexy together, and a lot of that credit goes to Camila Banus. The heat, the passion, and the chemistry in front of the cameras make us want to see much more of Gabi and Stefan together, for better or for worse. While you can call them a lot of things, you definitely can’t call them boring.

#2 She Does Emotion Like No Other

It doesn’t matter if she’s angry or if she’s sad if she’s lonely and depressed, or full of incredible excitement: Camila Banus does emotion like no other soap opera actress we’ve seen in a very long time. There’s no denying that Camila is an incredibly talented actress and with her stunning looks, style, and charisma, there’s just no ignoring her, no matter how hard you can try.

While Gabi also has plenty of enemies in Salem, she’s not afraid of them. While there are a lot of ways that you can describe a girl like Gabi, you can’t say that she is weak. Plus, she knows how to represent. In an interview with About.com back in 2012, Camila opened up about being the only Latina actress on Days of Our Lives.

She said, “I’m definitely grateful. I’m proud to be a Latina, and I’m really proud to represent all the Latinas out there; especially the young Latina women. It’s important for them to have a role. I feel really empowered to be the young Latina on the show, and I have no problem carrying all of the responsibility on my back.”

#3 Gabi DiMera Steals Every Scene

Let’s face it: whenever Gabi DiMera enters the room, all eyes are on her. There’s a reason why she steals each and every scene that she’s in and that’s because she is so electrifying. As a matter of fact, Days of Our Lives fans are still talking about Gabi and her heartache after her husband Stefan DiMera’s death. From asking God for another chance in the chapel to ruining Eli and Lani’s wedding by threatening to mess with Julie’s heart, Gabi has been all over the place this year. If that weren’t enough, she’s had to fight off everyone who has ever doubted her while still trying to hold on to the top spot at DiMera Enterprises.

Of course, Gabi’s story is nowhere near the end, either. She’s now very involved with her husband’s lookalike Jake Lambert and she’s determined to prove to him that they do have history between them. Unfortunately for Gabi though, it won’t be that easy as Days of Our Lives spoilers tease that Jake’s ex-girlfriend Gwen is about to enter the picture. Either way, Gabi is a force to be reckoned with and perhaps the one true anchor that is carrying Days of Our Lives, if not also daytime television.
