Days of Our Lives Spoilers – Gabi Hernandez DiMera Is Seeing Ghosts
As Days of Our Lives, viewers will recall, Gabi has been seeing her late husband Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) first as a reflection in a store window, and then she thought she saw him around Salem – and she becomes very disturbed over it! She talks to Will Horton (Chandler Massey) about it, and he is puzzled by her behavior. Will is the first one to admit that people can come back from the dead – he has – actually twice – but if Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (William Utay) was able to resurrect Stefan, would he not have when he first was declared dead and when Gabi had asked him to?
Rolf had told her it was too late for him to do anything for Stefan…and when Will hears Gabi has lost both her business and her home, he thinks perhaps that Gabi has been pushed beyond her mental limits and is losing her mind! They discuss Arianna Horton (Sydney Brower) and Gabi moving in with Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) for the time being because of Victor Kiriakis’ (John Aniston) stabbing and not being sure who did it and not wanting Ari to feel unsafe or frightened.
As soon as things are more normal at the Kiriakis mansion and he and Sonny know Victor will be okay and back home then they will talk to him about Gabi and Ari moving back into her old room there. Gabi knows she is not losing her mind, but starts to wonder if someone is trying to gaslight her and make her think she is! But who? Her mind immediately goes to her friend turned enemy, Abigail DiMera (Kate Mansi)!

Abby is not gaslighting Gabi or trying to make her think she’s losing her mind or trying to make her lose her mind, but since she taunted Abby about her past problems with dissociative identity disorder in front of Li Shin (Remington Hoffman) and likely embarrassed her, that’s her first suspect and her first theory! She thinks maybe Abby is setting up holograms of Stefan to make Gabi think she is seeing his ghost!
Gabi does not yet know that Stefan has a doppelgänger in Salem who just recently opened up an automotive repair shop, named Jake Lambert (Brandon Barash) and he is just walking around town getting to know the neighborhood. But Gabi’s behavior becomes even more bizarre after she meets Jake in person – as she is coming out of the Salem Inn, she sees him standing in front of “The Bistro” and she faints, after gasping, “Stefan!”.
Of course, Jake is NOT Stefan, but rushes over to see if she is okay and when she comes to at least she knows it’s not Stefan’s ghost, but soon becomes convinced that Jake is Stefan, even though he tries to convince her that he is not! If Stefan had a twin brother, he never knew about it and his mother never mentioned it, but that seems to be the only plausible explanation.
Jake doesn’t think he is adopted, spent no time in an orphanage, and knows of no twin brother either. But Gabi can’t let go of the obsession that Stefan has come back to life and just doesn’t want to admit it – she even tries to kiss him, and that doesn’t go over well at all with Jake!
