Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal Ava and Rafe getting even closer as the summer goes on and Nicole growing more and more jealous. But there’s still a woman out there Rafe thought he was going to be with forever who has decided not to return — for now.

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – Are Rafe and Hope Over For Good?

Nicole (Arianne Zucker) is not happy that she seems to have gotten Ava (Tamara Braun) and Rafe (Galen Gering) together by moving Ava into Rafe’s house for her own protection. The pair became friends and eventually ended up in bed together, much to Nicole’s chagrin.

Before Rafe became extra friendly with Nicole (without sleeping with her) he had been out of town for months because of his criminal father, Eduardo (A Martinez). He left with Eduardo for the family’s protection but he also left Hope (Kristian Alfonso) behind just as it seemed the two would reconcile. Hope and Rafe had been married but the shadow of Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) was always in the way. Plus, there’s the little fact that Rafe slept with Sami while engaged to Hope, which Hope learned right after they wed.

When Rafe returned after Eduardo apparently deemed it safe, Hope was gone. She left after Ciara allegedly died and was trying to find her. And there’s still no word on the character now that we know Ciara is alive, so Rafe has moved on.

DOOL Spoiler – Galen Gering Compares Two Romantic Partners

“As different as they are, he’s been attracted to women that were the opposite. That was certainly the case with Sami and with Kate,” Galen Gering said in the June 15 issue of Soap Opera Digest. “I think Hope was probably the closest in terms of their personalities. Obviously, that didn’t work out.”

However, he does think Rafe and Ava can work out — at least for now — because there is something between them that’s real as both characters reflect on their past mistakes. “They share a sense of loss, so I think they’re maybe trying to fill a void that may exist at this point in time…She’s recently lost her son and is coming to terms with what a bad parent she was and why and that self-reflection is really drawing him in.”

Will Ava and Rafe become the next big thing? Gering is not sure and he thinks Rafe isn’t looking for anything serious with Ava just yet. Stay tuned to Days of Our Lives weekdays to see where this new romance goes.
