Days Of Our Lives Spoilers: Greg Rikaart’s Dire Prediction Supports Big Move

Greg RikaartDays of Our Lives spoilers indicate that Greg Rikaart (Leo Stark), along with Mary Beth Evans (Kayla Johnson) and Billy Flynn (Chad Dimera) recently chatted with Michael Fairman. The topic of conversation was the big move of Days of Our Lives to steaming on Peacock. What did Rikaart and his fellow castmates have to say?

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – Greg Rikaart Predicts That “Network Television Is Dying”

Days Of Our Lives spoilers reveal that Days Of Our Lives actors, cast, and crew have been trying to drum up subscriptions for Peacock as well as support for the show. Viewers need to follow the show if they want to keep it around and it seems Days is much safer on Peacock than on Network TV. At least the show wasn’t canceled like all of the other NBC soap operas to date.

The actors expected this move, just not as quickly as it happened. Flynn readily admits that they were threatening to cancel the show when he joined years ago. Finn just wants everyone to be able to keep working whether the show survives or not. Rikaart admits that the move is a good thing because they could have canceled the show instead of moving it to Peacock. Rikaart further claims that network television will soon be news and sports and nothing more.

DOOL Spoilers – Greg Rikaart Is One Of The Actors Performing Double Duty

Rikaart is not only starring in Days of Our Lives, but he also plays Kevin Fisher on The Young and The Restless, one of the three remaining network soaps. Of course, Wally Kurth does the same playing Justin Kiriakis on Days of Our Lives and Ned Quartermaine on General Hospital, ABC’s only surviving soap opera. Is Days of Our Lives setting a trend for the other three network shows to follow when the time comes? Will the other network soaps join the many others before them and be cast aside instead?

Is there a chance of a soap opera revival online once network television is gone? After all, years ago, before events like the “O.J. Simpson Trial” took over network tv, there were many more soap operas. In 1994 there were ten soaps still on network tv, and there were 12 going into 1999. Soaps have been disappearing rapidly ever since.

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – Peacock Has Increased The Investment In The Show

Flynn says they are putting more money into the show than ever before now that it has moved to Peacock. Not only do fans see the daily episodes but there have been two mini-series of Beyond Salem and a third is said to be in the work. There was also a Christmas special last year as well. Days of Our Lives seems to be getting a lot more support now and Peacock has even lowered their price for a year to draw viewers.

Evans who originally joined the show in 1982 and is on her third stint there says everyone is excited about the show and that is very nice. Evans says if the folks at Peacock are excited, they might as well be too. Is this the new way in soaps with Days of Our Lives leading the forefront?
