Days Of Our Lives Spoilers: Haley Chen Has Connections In Salem, Related To Former DA Melinda Trask?

Days of Our Lives spoilers tease that Haley Chen, (Thia Megia) JJ Deveraux’s (Casey Moss) new friend may have connections in Salem, and one of them may be DA Melinda Trask (Laura Kai Chen)! In fact, a Soap Opera Digest spoiler for the week of January 14th has Melinda telling Haley to “take care of JJ!” But do these instructions have nefarious connotations, or is it sage advice from a close relative such as a mother or an older sister?

DA Melinda Trask has shown up in Salem off and on since 2013, one of the last times being in May 2018 when she prosecuted Abigail DiMera (then Marci Miller, now Kate Mansi) for the murder of Andre DiMera (Thaao Penghlis). This led to Abby’s struggle with dissociative identity disorder, or DID, in which her personality fractured into two other alters, “Dr. Laura” and “Gabby”.

She shows up every few years when there’s a trial, but she’s a DA so that’s what she does! Part of the reason for her return will likely be the trial of Stefan DiMera (Tyler Christopher) for corporate espionage, but is there a second reason for her return?

Considering she prosecuted Abigail and Haley’s getting involved with JJ, there could be a connection. Could someone be involving Melinda and Haley in targeting the Deverauxs? Eve Donovan (Kassie DiPaiva) just showed up in town with an agenda against Abby and JJ’s mother, Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) with a thought to be dead Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford), so that’s reason enough for Days of Our Lives viewers to be suspicious that there’s something going on between Eve, Melinda and Haley!

But, maybe Melinda is finally going to have her own story instead of just being a DA at random trials every few years. Maybe she will be Haley’s mother or older sister and that will tie her to Salem. Perhaps there is nothing nefarious going on at all, and Haley has messed up previous relationships so her telling her to “take care of JJ” just means be good to him and don’t mess this relationship up!
