Tate Went Behind Holly’s Back And Blabbed

Fans of DOOL are aware that Tate betrayed Holly’s trust by breaking his silence and revealing to Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) the details of Doug Williams III’s (Peyton Meyer) necklace theft.

This premature disclosure robbed Doug of the opportunity to share the truth with Julie himself, just as he was ready to come clean. While Tate couldn’t have anticipated Doug’s impending confession, it was still not his secret to share.

From Holly’s perspective, Tate’s jealousy motivated him to expose Doug, ultimately damaging his relationship with Julie. Despite this, Tate has expressed his concerns about Doug’s criminal behavior, fearing it could jeopardize Holly’s future if it continues.

Tate Was Jealous, But His Fears About Doug Were Reasonable

It’s clear that Tate has experienced jealousy, but he also harbors valid concerns regarding the chaotic situation Holly is entangled in.

Nevertheless, Holly felt disrespected by Tate’s decision to disregard her wishes-his lack of honesty only exacerbated the situation, especially since Holly learned of his betrayal from Maggie Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers).

However, Holly’s grievances with Tate extend beyond this single incident involving Doug; it represents merely the tipping point in a series of relationship challenges. Holly has been struggling to cope with Tate’s role as the father of Sophia Choi’s (Rachel Boyd) child.

This is particularly relevant considering that Sophia and Tate might end up co-parenting their child if they fail to find an adoption solution.

Ultimately, Holly began to realize that perhaps the critics who opposed her relationship with Tate had a point. Reflecting on the past, including the overdose incidents on the show, it’s clear that Tate and Holly have faced numerous challenges.

The revelation about Doug’s betrayal was simply one problem too many for Holly, leading her to conclude that her relationship with Tate is over.

She no longer believes they are destined to be together, and given the situation, it’s hard to argue with her decision!

Holly And Tate May Not Be Over For Good, In Spite Of Everything

Despite the current situation, Tate and Holly’s story may not be finished just yet. In a recent interview with SOD, Days star Ashley Puzemis shared her thoughts on the breakup. “I wasn’t upset about it because [Leo and I] both understand that Tate and Holly are meant to be together in the end,” Puzemis stated confidently.

“We’re both aware that they will reunite eventually — at least that’s our hope.” Upcoming spoilers indicate that Holly and Tate will be change  their plans and temporarily going their separate ways, but Puzemis’ prediction could very well come true in the near future!
