Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Is Ted Working For The Cartel?

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Ted Laurent (Gilles Marini) may be involved in some criminal activities. Ted’s been a bit shady ever since he arrived in Salem as a criminal defense attorney, but recently he made a big change when he started prosecuting criminals as the Interim DA for Mayor Abe Carver (James Reynolds). He’d like everyone to believe he’s a respectable, upstanding member of the community.

But Ted recently received a phone call from a mystery person whom he didn’t want calling him. And this isn’t the first time that Ted has appeared to have a big secret. A while back, during a conversation with Diana Colville (Judith Chapman), Diana mentioned that she had spotted Ted’s wife in Europe recently. Ted indicated that this was impossible because his wife was dead, but it all seemed very suspicious.

According to Days of Our Lives spoilers, Ted will be overheard on some additional phone calls with the mystery person. Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) will hear Ted’s end of a conversation during which he mentions Hope Hernandez (Kristian Alfonso), which won’t seem all that unusual to Eli, since Ted and Hope work together. Plus, Eli knows that Ted is after Hope romantically.

But what will surprise Eli is that Ted will also mention Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) on the call. As DOOL fans know, Chloe is currently in a terrible mess with a Mexican drug cartel. She killed the cartel’s leader, El Fideo (Andoni Gracia), last year, and now his followers are trying to seek revenge on Chloe. Chloe has been under protection since the threat to her life is very real.

Days of Our Lives Spoilers – Kate Catches Ted On Suspicious Phone Call

Days of Our Lives spoilers say that Kate DiMera (Lauren Koslow) will also overhear Ted on another phone call, during which Chloe’s name will be mentioned. Clearly, Ted and the mystery person will have some sort of connection to Chloe. But what could it be?

Well, there’s one glaring possibility, given Chloe’s current situation with the cartel thugs who are out to get her. Could Ted be somehow involved with the cartel? It’s always possible that Ted defended a member or members of the cartel in the past on some criminal charge, so he and the cartel could go way back.

Or, it’s possible that Ted is being threatened by the cartel and is reluctantly helping them. They could be threatening his life or the life of someone he cares about if he doesn’t help them track down Chloe. The cartel seemed to easily invade the DiMera mansion when they took a shot at Ciara Brady (Victoria Konefal) thinking she was Chloe – perhaps they got help from Ted to do that.

It will be interesting to see what type of connection Ted has to what’s currently going on with Chloe. But we can’t forget that DOOL spoilers say that Hope will also be mentioned on the call that Eli overhears. Hope’s really not connected to what’s currently going on with Chloe, other than she’s the police commissioner.

And that raises another possibility. Could Ted’s romantic pursuit of Hope be one big tactic to distract the police commissioner from the cartel infiltrating Salem? Looking back, Ted’s intense pursuit of Hope could have been a move dictated by the cartel. Stranger things have happened.
