Belle had Jan sign documents that state she won’t be arrested as long as she doesn’t press charges against John for attempted murder. Jan doesn’t like John getting away with putting her in another coma, but reluctantly signs the paperwork.

Belle was suspicious but also wondered where she lost the button. She didn’t find it and that is most likely because Jan took it at some point.

Even though Jan is furious with John for nearly killing her, the sociopath is more concerned about Belle. The lawyer has always stood in the way of what Jan wanted, which was Shawn. If Belle goes to prison, then in Jan’s mind, that makes Shawn available. It also makes him more vulnerable without Belle there to watch his back. The question is, what kind of crime is Jan going to frame Belle for? Could there be another murder in Salem?
