This time, John finds out that Marlena is possessed again much quicker. However, there is a complication and that’s John being dragged to the DiMera crypt. When John wakes up, he will be in the fight for his life.

In the new issue of Soap Opera Digest, it is teased that November will be like the “Last Temptation of John Black.” The devil chains up John and tries to corrupt him. Now, fans know that John is a very strong man. John has been through situations before where he was held hostage and even drugged. When other men would have given into torture, John remained strong. So, the devil is going to have a hard time corrupting John.

Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that “MarDevil” uses a specific technique when trying to tempt and corrupt John. The magazine article doesn’t give out details, but does suggest John is in the fight for his life. Most likely, the devil will try to torment John’s loved ones and maybe even harms Marlena in order to get compliance.

Of course, it’s one thing to want to protect Marlena. It’s quite another to save someone’s soul from the devil. Not only is John trying to save Marlena, if the devil wins, the whole town of Salem – and perhaps the world – will be affected.

DOOL Spoilers – The Ultimate Test

It is teased that this new possession story is a great test of John and Marlena’s love. As with most soap stories, good wins over evil eventually. This is no different and remember, “Jarlena” has gone through this before. Their love overpowered the devil 27 years ago, and their love will be victorious again.

“The devil is trying to break him down and corrupt his soul and you’ll see exactly how the devil goes about that. It’s a great test of John and Marlena’s love, and it’s a great test o John in general with some great callbacks to the original story.”
