He thought he killed Jan and was going to prison for the rest of his life. So, it was bittersweet finding out Jan wasn’t dead but was in a coma. With Jan’s recovery, John and Marlena both realize that there could be a prison sentence.

Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that Shawn tries to arrest Jan the minute she regains consciousness. He wants the sociopath to pay for what she did to Belle. However, Jan stops Shawn in his tracks. If she is going to prison, then she’s taking John down with her. John would rather spend the rest of his life in prison than let Jan go free. However, Belle will do anything to save her father. So, when Jan offers a deal, Belle considers it. While it will exonerate John, it will also allow Jan to go free.

Actress Martha Madison teased to Soap Opera Digest that Belle accepts Jan’s terms of the deal. All she wants is for her dad to have his freedom. He knows that this situation weighs heavily on him. Plus, he is still having some side effects from the brain aneurysm. So, it’s better for him healthwise to stay out of prison. When speaking about the storyline, Madison explained that John always plays the hero. He tries to do that with this storyline, too. However, Belle is a lot like her father, which is why she takes the deal.

However, she could regret making that deal with Jan. It is teased that next week, Jan threatens “Shelle.” What she promises to do will make their heads spin.
