DOOL spoilers reveal that during the week of August 31, John will wake up after his surgery. As fans recall, he collapsed after getting into a verbal altercation with Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney). The two were fighting about how Sami was handling the situation regarding Allie Horton’s (Lindsay Arnold) baby.

It turns out that John had an aneurysm and did go through surgery. However, he still had to regain consciousness, which he hasn’t yet. However, that will all change next week and Dr. Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) will get her prayers answered.

He will suffer from some pretty serious mood swings, which is normal after a major health crisis. Especially once that involves the brain. “One of the aftereffects that can happen when you have a medical crisis is mood swings or changes in personality, and in this instance, you see that John’s emotions are going to be very close to the surface. It’s something he and Marlena will have to weather together.”
