Days Of Our Lives Spoilers: John Oliver Storms Salem As Devilish Devlin – EJ’s Cover-Up ExplodesDays of Our Lives spoilers and updates tease that John Oliver, who recently played a character on ABC’s General Hospital, is now in Salem as a “devilish character” named Devlin St. John.

You can see him on the NBC Peacock soap Tuesday, August 11, Wednesday, August 12 and Friday, August 14.

John Oliver Wraps Up His Soap Opera Tour in Salem

In March, Oliver-the Emmy-winning comedian and host of Last Week Tonight With John Oliver-aired a segment expressing his envy for ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith.

Smith has enjoyed a decade-long recurring role as Brick on General Hospital. He made it clear that he was open to any daytime dramas looking to cast him in a significant role.

By the end of June, he proudly announced on his show that he had landed roles in both General Hospital and Days Of Our Lives.

DAYS Executive Producer Ken Corday remarked, “When John Oliver said, ‘Call me, soaps, I’m available and willing to travel. I want to be a part of that world,’ our world, we had to heed the call!”

The Peacock Soap Went Against Their Norm By Inserting Oliver’s Scenes In Episodes Already Filmed

DOOL usually records nearly a year ahead of schedule, and to guarantee that Oliver’s episodes air as soon as possible, his scenes were integrated into episodes that had already been filmed. Oliver portrays Devlin St. John, Salem’s Chief Water Inspector.

This places him at the center of the plot involving EJ’s attempts to conceal the impact of his illegal disposal of contaminated drugs on a nearby island’s water supply.

The promo for this week’s episodes indicates that he will share scenes with Jackée Harry (Paulina Price) and will also have significant interactions with Dan Feuerriegel (EJ DiMera) and Maggie Carney (Rita Lesley).

Access Hollywood Visited The Set In June When Oliver Filmed

Harry playfully commented on Paulina’s interactions with Devlin to TV Insider, stating, “He’s attempting to outsmart the city of Salem, but she’s not falling for it. Then he moves on to his next target.”

In June, Access Hollywood visited the DAYS set while Oliver filmed his guest appearance. He shared with the outlet that this role is truly a “dream come true,” and remarked, “People on soaps put in an immense amount of effort”.

“The schedule is absolutely crazy; everything moves at lightning speed. You definitely don’t want to be the sand that disrupts a well-oiled machine like this… I’m just doing my best not to mess it up!”

Feurreriegel Praised Oliver

Feuerriegel praised Oliver in Access Hollywood, saying, “Hearing John talk about our hard work is wonderful.”” It’s a nice feather in the cap. John has also been working hard; he’s really diving in and doing great.”

On Instagram, Feuerriegel added, “Can’t wait for you all to enjoy the fun. John is amazing.” In an interview with Soaps.com, Feuerriegel shared more about EJ’s meeting with Devlin; “We did everything you’d expect in a soap. I got slapped, and I slapped back.”

Oliver’s three-day appearance on General Hospital aired in July, where he played Z, the clever head of the World Security Bureau (WSB).
