Then, Craig showed up in town to defend himself and Nancy just wasn’t buying it at all. She has it in her head that Craig is cheating on her and that’s that. When Chloe overheard her father talking about a secret on the phone next week, she confronts him and he has to confess what’s really going on. When Chloe listens to what Craig has to say, she is stunned because this is not what she was expecting at all.

Actor Kevin Spirtas is thrilled to be back in the role he created almost three decades ago and told Soap Opera Digest just that. “[Craig has] been a good role. It changed my life,” he said. “It changed the trajectory of my life. It brought me into a world of creativity. At the time, I was being acknowledged again after not having worked for so long and I am appreciative of everyone at DAYS for that. I’m thrilled to be back.”

Of course, returning to DAYS after all this time was a little different during COVID rules with actors not being allowed to interact between taping their scenes, but Spirtas made the adjustment easily.

So, what are Spirtas and Craig back for? While the actor won’t say exactly what’s going on, he does admit it is quite surprising and not at all what the audience thinks might be going on.

“It’s a very uncommon story to see in daytime, but not in the world today,” he said in the February 1, 2022 issue of Soap Opera Digest. “What’s so interesting about playing this particular turn in Craig’s life is that it’s not a difficult choice to navigate. What’s amazing to me is that they were able to create this story out of a 30-year relationship between Craig and Nancy. We’ll see Craig moving through this commitment to himself, his peace of mind, and his integrity.
