Speaking to Soap Opera Digest, actress Stacy Haiduk explains what made Kristen change her mind and take responsibility. She said,

“Kristen has probably never really paid the price for all the horrible things she has done in the past, but she’s going to take responsibility for this one. It’s heart-wrenching for her to have to do this, but I think it’s something that she needs to do for her own self-respect and for her child. She wants her child to respect her as a woman and a mother, and not this person from the past.”
