The announcement was shocking for fans. Although we are disappointed because she is a legendary and favorite character, her reasons are completely understandable.

DOOL Spoilers – Hope Brady’s Exit

Speaking to Soap Opera Digest, Alfonso was asked about her final scenes as Hope. The soap star confirmed that she did film the last episode she will be in, but that wasn’t an exit scene. She’s simply not going back and has no idea how they will address Hope no longer being on screen.

“I would have liked to have given the fans that have been so devoted to Days of Our Lives all these years a final goodbye and not, ‘Oh, she’s out looking for someone,’ or ‘She’s upstairs cleaning her room,’ or ‘She’s taken a trip.’”

When things like this have happened on other TV shows, one character usually mentions the person being out of town, on vacation, moving to another city, or is working undercover. So, we will have to wait and see how DOOL addresses this.

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – Romance Fail: Aiden Jennings

The Days of Our Lives actress also talked about Hope’s relationship with Aiden Jennings (Daniel Cosgrove). She thought the two characters were good together, but then writers turned him bad. Even though Jennings later returned, how could Hope be with Aiden after he tried to kill her? So, that romance was ruined when it really wasn’t necessary.

DOOL Spoilers – About ‘Rope’

As for Hope’s relationship with Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering), Alfonso said,

The pairing with Rafe worked but the minute they had him sleep with Sami Brady [Alison Sweeney] I mean, game over, basically. They didn’t let his character have a moment before jumping into bed with Sami. Not even 12 hours! You blinked and he was in bed with Sami. It was bizarre [laughs]. I don’t think Hope and Rafe ever even went out on a date.”
