When Jack returns from a blow-up with Gwen, he hears the confession and is livid. He attacks Laura and then he realizes why Gwen has been so angry. He decides to reach out to her. He will also inform her that he really had no idea she even existed and that it was Laura who paid off her mother, not him and not his real secretary.

It is teased that after Jack tells Gwen what happened all those years ago, she will go to confront Laura. The two women get into a vicious argument. It isn’t stated what exactly happens, but we imagine Gwen’s temper gets out of control. Even when things are going well for her, Gwen still is an extremely angry person. There is a lot of pain, abandonment, rejection, and hatred in her heart. She’s also been holding onto all those negative emotions for several years. So, based on what happens next, it seems likely that Gwen dukes it out with Laura and ends up killing her.

Considering that Gwen and Laura face off on February 8 and Jack is asked for his help the very next day says a lot, Plus, there is this little hint. Bauer’s last day playing Laura is on February 10.

It is teased that Jack will be horrified when he goes to see what’s the matter with Gwen and why she begged for his help. Even though Gwen has done terrible things to Abigail and slapped Jack across the face, he will feel compelled to help her. He realizes that Gwen’s rage is a cover for her pain and sadness. Even though Laura is the one that set the revenge scheme in motion all those years ago, Jack feels responsible to fix it. In a way, Jack helping Gwen is a redemption tactic. Gwen is used to everyone hurting and abandoning her, so Jack will also be teaching his daughter that he can trust him.

However, covering up Gwen as the killer is the wrong move. The truth always comes out in the end. Plus, Gwen really needs to get some help for all that rage or she’ll end up killing someone else. We will have to see how Jack handles this situation and what Gwen’s fate is at the end of this storyline.
