Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) was the first person hauled down to the Salem PD in connection with Abigail DiMera’s (Marci Miller) murder and now he is back. After Thomas DiMera told Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) that he saw Leo in the tunnels the night that his mommy died, Chad makes sure that Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) and Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) bring Leo back into the interrogation room.

When Leo’s lawyer is able to determine that the cops do not have enough to hold him, Leo thinks he has gotten out of this one again. That is until Shawn comes back and announces that Leo’s prints were found all over items in the tunnels and he is forced to admit that yes, he was staying down there and making himself at home, but he is not a killer.

It turns out the fingerprints are enough to hold him and now Leo feels like he has no options but to save his own self. He knows he did not kill Abby, but now he claims he knows who did. Is he definitely thinking about Gwen Rizcech (Emily O’Brien) here? Is he lying? Or, is he going to name someone else? Whatever Leo does, Leo is only thinking of himself at this moment.

“He’s feeling more self-preservation,” Greg Rikaart said in the August 23, 2022, issue of Soap Opera Digest. “Again, Leo is guilty of a crime here, but it’s not murder. I think no matter what he is going to stand by that. He’s not willing to go to jail for a crime someone else committed.”

We do know that Leo was working with Gwen on a revenge plot, but was it a murder revenge plot? Leo also knows that Gwen still had that Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) mask on hand and he definitely does not believe that story that Gwen was in the library and fell asleep reading a book at Stateville that night.
