DOOL spoilers reveal that on September 5, actress Deidre Hall interviewed with BriefTake. During the segment, Hall confirmed that Marlena becomes possessed again. The actress said that this time, Marlena gets to be meaner and crueler. She also talked about something terrible happening during the Horton Christmas “Ball” — the annual event that has the extended Horton family hanging their personalized Christmas ornaments.

Shortly after that interview, the soap came out with the “Something Wicked” teaser, which featured Marlena’s possessed laugh. However, could Marlena’s possession not come until Christmas? Will other Salemites be possessed first as the devil jumps from body to body?

In the new issue of Soap Opera Digest, it is teased that Marlena’s possession seems to begin with Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman). When Johnny reads Will Horton’s (Chandler Massey) script about Sami DiMera’s (Alison Sweeney) life, the aspiring filmmaker comes across the possession story. Apparently, Johnny and Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) were never told about Marlena being possessed by the devil.

Johnny is fascinated by this new element and wants to put it in his movie. However, Allie believes in hell and is fearful that Johnny is messing with dark forces that could accidentally be unleashed.

Some fans believe that Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) might be possessed as well. Not only is Ben very close to Marlena, but a lot of emphasis has been put on Ben’s psychosis lately. Could he go back to his serial killer ways, only for it to be a possession? That is what some viewers are thinking, but it would ruin his redemption story. So, that is possible but not likely. It seems more logical that Ben will be the one to save Marlena, so we will have to keep watching to see what happens.
