Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – Julie Williams In Denial
DOOL spoilers reveal that Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) and Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) are concerned about Doug. Roman called Julie when Doug showed up at Brady’s Pub and was behaving strangely. Even though Roman thinks that Doug needs to see a doctor, he also knows that it’s impossible to force Julie to do something until she’s ready.
Jack on the other hand took it upon himself to make Doug an appointment with Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans). Julie was not pleased and told Jack to cancel the appointment. Julie is in denial, but that doesn’t mean she is unaware.
DOOL Spoilers – Fears Confirmed
As actress Susan Seaforth Hayes explained to Soap Opera Digest, Julie can’t bear to face a possible dementia diagnosis. In her mind, that means it is the end of their story. She doesn’t want to think about their time on this earth coming to an end. She doesn’t want this to be the end of their love story or making memories. She is aware of Doug’s symptoms. After all, she is the first person who noticed as she lives with him every single day.
Julie is only delaying the inevitable, though. She might even be making treatment less likely and ineffective by being in denial. However, she can’t think about that right now. She just wants everything to go back to the way it used to. Once Doug receives a diagnosis, then Julie will have to accept what she’s not ready to face.
Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – Reaching Out to Marlena Evans
Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that there will be a disagreement among Doug’s loved ones. Everyone has their own ideas of what’s best for Doug. As Doug’s wife, though, Julie holds all of the cards. It is confirmed that Julie reaches out to Marlena. With the dementia storyline being a big one that involves several characters, it’s easy to understand why Marlena would get involved.
DOOL Spoilers – It’s Not the End
Julie might think that she will get Marlena to side with her and to get everyone else to back off. However, Julie might end up leaving with a new understanding and a plan that everyone will agree to.
Marlena is a psychiatrist, so she knows how to talk to people without them feeling ganged up on or lectured to. Marlena will realize that Julie’s fear isn’t dementia itself, but of losing what they have together. Marlena tells Julie that a diagnosis is just giving the symptoms a name. It doesn’t change her relationship with Doug, doesn’t change who he is as a person and doesn’t make their days less meaningful. In fact, a diagnosis like this could make celebrating each day that much more important.
One thing that Marlena might also mention is that Julie isn’t protecting Doug by preventing him from seeing a doctor. In fact, she could be doing more damage and to think of what she would do if Jack, Roman, Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso) or even Marlena herself were struggling with memory loss. What if the people who promised to care for them in sickness stopped them from getting treatment? What if that treatment could add years to the patient’s life? Wouldn’t it be worth a few minutes of feeling uncomfortable and getting the looks of pity from others? When Marlena lays all this down on the table, Julie just might have a breakthrough.
