Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that Nancy Miller (Patrika Darbo) dragged Joy Wesley (AlexAnn Hopkins) to Salem. While Joy did get the acting job, Nancy keeps going on about all her daughter’s screw-ups.
Joy seems like a nice girl, but clearly has self-esteem issues. These issues might not be from Joy, but from Nancy’s toxic parenting. Keep reading and let’s talk about Joy and Nancy’s strained relationship.
Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – Joy Wesley’s Introduction
DOOL spoilers reveal that when Joy was introduced, she had just traveled with Nancy to Salem. Joy was exhausted and frustrated after being pent up with her mother for the entire trip. When Joy arrived in Salem, she stopped to get a drink and ran into Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman).
Joy and Johnny got drunk, and then ended up kissing. That turned into a betrayal, one that Johnny and Joy both regret.
For one thing, Joy didn’t know she was sleeping with the director of Body & Soul. As for Johnny, he only realized after the fact that Chanel Dupree-DiMera (Raven Bowens) didn’t cheat on him at all.
DOOL Spoilers – Nancy Wesley’s Seeds
Ever since Nancy came to Salem, she keeps talking about all her daughter’s shortcomings. Nancy might mean well, but she’s clearly doing more damage than good. Nancy went to Bonnie Lockhart Kiriakis (Judi Evans) to ask her to get Joy an audition.
Bonnie did that, and Joy auditioned with Chanel. Abe Carver (James Reynolds) and Kate Roberts Brady (Lauren Koslow) offered Joy the job. While Nancy did have Bonnie help get an audition, Joy got the job on her own.
Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – Mistake After Mistake
Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that Nancy already seems overbearing and controlling. Joy is a grown woman, yet Nancy is demanding to know who she sleeps with.
Nancy also keeps telling people about how “lost” and “misguided” Joy is. How about letting others see who Joy is without planting any seeds, Nancy?
Fans can already see the effect of Nancy’s toxic words have on Joy. Even though Joy is beautiful and clearly talented, it’s obvious she has self-esteem issues.
Joy seems to think she’s screwing up before she even does anything! While Joy shouldn’t have slept with Johnny, she was also drunk and not aware of the dynamics at play.
Even when running lines with Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson), Joy was pretty down on herself. Joy seems to want to do really well, but can’t seem to get Nancy’s negative words out of her head.
DOOL Spoilers – Independence & Healing
Nancy has a good heart and means really well. Joy also seems like a really good person. Could Joy and Nancy end up having a huge blow-out once the truth about Johnny is exposed?
If so, can Nancy and Joy find a way to peacefully coexist in the least toxic way possible?
