We already know the characters will be saying goodbye later this year, but exactly when? Today on Twitter, Smith gave an estimate of how many episodes he has left and given an approximate exit date.

DOOL Updates – Freddie Smith Reveals Episodes Remaining

DOOL spoilers state that on Twitter, Smith posted that he has approximately 36 more episodes left. He made it clear that was an estimate and that number is not definite, though. He came to the conclusion while glancing through his emails.

The actor also explained that this means that fans will see Sonny until probably September 2020. Even though that seems a long way off, it will be here before we know it. He wrote,

“I remember shooting today’s Days scenes and got me thinking about how many episodes Sonny has left to air. I’m not 100% sure but looking through my emails, looks like 36 more episodes between now and sometime in September! So you got more Sonny Days ahead.”

Sonny Kiriakis And Will Horton Leaving Salem

Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that Smith and Massey weren’t directly told about Will and Sonny being written out of the soap opera. On his YouTube channel, Smith told fans that he was confused at first because he only had scripts for six episodes. He conferred with Massey, who indicated he also only had a handful of scripts.

Then, they read the final script which indicated “Wilson” was being written out and confronted a producer about their discovery. Smith was unhappy as he had played on the soap for nine years and felt he was at least owed a heads-up.

DOOL Updates – Fans Unhappy ‘Wilson’ Saying Goodbye

Fans are definitely not happy about Will and Sonny leaving. They are a fan-favorite couple and an iconic one, as well. Let’s just hope that they return one day and that the soap does the characters justice in their final scenes. If they have to leave, then at the very least give them a happy ending.
