Apparently, there wasn’t enough notice about the Olympics to plan ahead. However, it is being promised that when the soap returns, there will be plenty of romance and passion.

DOOL spoilers reveal that fans discovered that NBC would be airing the winter Olympics. That means the soap won’t air new episodes until Monday, February 21. Viewers expected some huge cliffhangers but that didn’t happen.

Speaking to Soap Opera Digest, head writer Ron Carlivati explained that they were not given enough notice to plan for any huge cliffhangers. By the time they learned the news, so many episodes had already been written and filmed that there wasn’t enough time to make adjustments.

DOOL Spoilers – Belated Valentine’s Day

Holiday celebrations are huge in soaps, especially in Salem. Not everyone is a fan of the lengthy Horton Christmas ornament hanging, April Fool’s specials, or the Halloween episodes.

However, most people do enjoy Valentine’s Day. In Salem, that means romance, love, and passion. With so much drama and horror in Salem lately, fans could use some heartwarming stories to watch. With the Olympics airing, that means Valentine’s Day will be postponed.

Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that Carlivati talked about not having any confirmation or advance notice about the Olympics messed up one thing. That is, of course, Valentine’s Day.

“So, the only thing that gets disrupted a little bit is that it kind of screwed up where Valentine’s Day falls, so the audience will see that play out after the break.”

One storyline that was supposed to air was Tripp Johnson (Lucas Adams) proposing to Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold). Tripp mentioned that he wanted to pop the question on Valentine’s Day.

DOOL Spoilers – Love And Bombshells

While Valentine’s Day will already be gone when DOOL returns, Salem is in a completely different time zone. So, at least fans can still pretend it’s Valentine’s Day when the soap finally does come back.

Even though we will probably see plenty of romance and passion, there will also be bombshells and shockers. For one thing, Allie is keeping a secret from Tripp that is going to come out. There is the possession storyline, as well as what will happen on Kristen DiMera’s (Stacy Haiduk) deserted island. Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) and Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) need to be exposed. Plus, Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) needs to come home. So, there will be a lot of excitement when the soap comes back.
