It is teased that Paulina will have a near-death experience that helps rebuild her relationship with Lani. However, there is word that Lani’s dangerous father could arrive in town.

DOOL spoilers reveal that Lani was blown away by Chanel Dupree’s (Raven Bowens) bombshell. Lani discovered that her mother is Paulina, not Tamara Price (Marilyn McCoo) as she believed all of these years. Perhap more painful than that is losing the father she bonded with since arriving in Salem. Even though Abe will never turn his back on Lani, the detective just can’t bring herself to forgive Paulina.

In the new issue of Soap Opera Digest, head writer Ron Carlivati teases that after the new year begins, Paulina has a brush with death.

“In the new year, Paulina has a brush with death, which causes Lani to soften a bit toward her.”

It sounds like she might have a near-death experience and that can change everything for people. Not only will it put certain things into perspective for Paulina, but will make Lani decide that it might be time to get over the anger.

Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that nearly dying won’t be the only bad thing to happen to Paulina. In 2022, a man from Paulina’s past will come back to haunt her. It sounds like it could be Paulina’s abusive ex and Lani’s biological father, Ray.

“Just when you think they may be on the road to some kind of mother/daughter relationship, a man from Paulina’s past shows up in town unexpectedly and that throws the whole thing into question and rocks their world.”

DOOL Spoilers – Brand New Battle

It’s interesting that the head writer said that the man from Paulina’s past throws the mother/daughter reconciliation into question. Ray probably finds out somehow that he has a daughter out there and goes to insert himself into Lani’s life.

When he does, could Ray play mind games and claim he never abused Paulina? Abusers do tend to use gaslighting and manipulation to make themselves seem like the victims. So, if Ray does this, could he convince Lani that Paulina is the evil one? Lani would be inclined to believe it because of Paulina’s history of lying. This could prove to be very dangerous – not just for Paulina and Lani, but Abe, Chanel, Eli Grant (Lamon Archey), and the twins.
