Paulina was tempted to tell Lani Price Grant (Sal Stowers) the truth on multiple occasions. However, there is always someone or something that stops her from confessing.

When the truth does come out, it won’t go over well. Not only has Lani been lied to about her mother her whole life, but Abe thinks he is the detective’s father when he isn’t. Plus, Paulina promised Lani that there would be no more secrets and no more lies.

Paulina was tempted to tell Lani the truth but the one person who stopped her was Oliva Price (Marla Gibbs). Olivia was too sick to attend Lani and Eli Grant’s (Lamon Archey) wedding. She was also not well enough to make it to the twins’ baptism. However, she found the strength to come to Salem when she learned that Paulina moved to the small town. Olivia was worried that Paulina was going to tell Lani the truth and did everything in her power to stop it from happening.

DOOL Spoilers – Huge Implications

Head writer Ron Carlivati told Soap Opera Digest that there will be huge implications when the secret comes out.

“This big secret, that Paulina is Lani’s mother, has huge implications. It is not just Lani finding out that her mother is not her mother, it’s finding out that her father is not her father, and that’s the relationship the audience cares about. So you think, ‘Wow, if Abe was upset that Paulina was going to take a wrecking ball to Horton Town Square, how is he going to feel that she, in a matter of speaking, takes his daughter away from him?’ To have that secret come out and have maximum impact, we ultimately decided that we would build toward Abe and Paulina’s wedding.”
