Philip had wanted to show Chloe that he trusted in their love by planting a tree in their special romantic spot. Chloe and Brady went on a business trip but got delayed and had to spend the night together in the same hotel room. Philip believed that Chloe and Brady where together and went to find out if Chloe had cheated on him. Chloe assured Philip that he did not have to worry and that she and Brady were not together.

Philip will need to figure out a way to test Chloe to find out if she still wants to be with him or wants to be with Brady.

Philip has been trying to keep from doing something drastic to Brady over Chloe. Philip had sent Brady a threatening E-Mail in the past which Belle Black Brady (Martha Madison) advised him not to do. Philip knows that Brady has been interested in Chloe but he had been in a relationship with Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk and Eileen Davidson). Brady had gone to Dr. Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) for advice on how to deal with Kristen but she told him that he should pursue a relationship with Chloe.

Brady did not know that Marlena has been possessed by the devil when he went to see her. Brady went to see Chloe to talk to her. Brady found out from Chloe that Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) and Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) had an intimate encounter at Basic Black. Brady and Chloe do not know that Philip believes that they are the ones who were together not Rafe and Nicole. Philip may not believe that Brady and Chloe have not been together. Philip may decide to go after Brady with the intention of hurting him. Brady may end up hurt because of Philip.
