Days Of Our Lives Spoilers: Rafe’s Bad News To Gabi – The Bones Are Stefan’s?

Days of Our Lives spoilers and updates tease that Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) will have bad news for his sister Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jiminez).

Rafe and the crime scene investigation unit of the GCPD retrieved the bones from the DiMera crypt, and Salem University Hospital surgeons the one from Peter Blake’s (Dan Gauthier) chest to identify.

Rafe Had Also Called Vivian Alamain, After Peter’s Claim That Stefan DiMera Died

Rafe had also called Vivian Alamain, (Louise Sorel) after Peter’s claim that he told her Stefan DiMera, (Brandon Barash) her only remaining son, had died. It was easy to assume that Vivian had lied, even if only to protect her son, possibly hearing of the DiMera kidnappings.

Vivian told Rafe the same thing that she told Peter; that Stefan had sadly passed away several months ago; although that doesn’t explain how his bones ended up in the crypt with no marker.

Stefan had his own marker and crypt with plaque before he was revealed to be alive, with a mechanical heart beating in his chest until Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash) died. He’d then received Jake’s heart, thanks to an emergency operation by Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton).

Rafe Gets The Bones Checked For Identification Purposes

Rafe gets the bones checked for identification purposes, although it may be difficult at this point to ascertain a cause of death-with the bones in the shape they are, all separated especially.

It was obviously not a corpse prepared by a funeral home, since the body didn’t have embalming and for all Rafe and the GCPD know, they could be from different victims!

It didn’t even look at first glance, like the bones were from a complete skeleton-no skull was found, unless the rest were found by the GCPD Crime Scene Unit completing the process.

The bones looked like they were much older than what one would expect to be Stefan’s, if, as Vivian claimed, he only died a few months ago-apparently Jake’s heart failed.

The Bones Come Back A Match

Rafe gives his sister the bad news-even though Stefan and Gabi had divorced long ago, deep down, she still loves him; the bones match Stefan’s DNA, as improbable as it seems.

Of course, there is one other thing that could have happened-although no one thinks to check Jake’s crypt to make sure that his remains are still there.

After all, Jake and Stefan were identical twins, and the DNA would match; if Vivian wanted to keep hiding Stefan she could have moved Jake’s bones.

But with the information that they do have and believe it to be true, Rafe and everyone involved in the investigation goes with the bones being Stefan, and Gabi grieves.

Oddly, Stefano DiMera’s (Joseph Mascolo) sarcophagus is also missing-but EJ DiMera (Dan Feurreriegel) had laid claim to that fact, and he was the one who had it removed for an as yet unknown reason.
