In the episode airing on November 11, Sami revealed to EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) that she was engaged to Dante Vitali.
This revelation prompted a strong negative reaction from EJ, who incredulously asked if Sami had lost her “bloody mind!”
EJ went on a rant about the Vitali family being involved in organized crime, but Sami defended her fiancé by insisting that Dante was not involved in any of that.
She explained that Dante’s family remained in Italy, which means he is completely unaware of his cousins’ activities in Pennsylvania.

Nevertheless, EJ’s skepticism was evident, so perhaps it’s wise for Days fans to share in that skepticism as well!
There Must Be A Reason For Sami’s Fiancé To Be Related To The Vitalis
Ultimately, the writers of DOOL had the option to create a character who was simply a nice guy without any last name associated with mafia connections. The decision to have Sami marry into the Vitali family seems to carry a lot of weight.
This could be the show’s clever way of laying the groundwork for an upcoming storyline in Days, or at the very least, it might lead to a wedding filled with mob-related chaos.
Although Sami and Dante have yet to set a wedding date, it will certainly be intriguing to see what unfolds once they do. Should they have an on-screen marriage ceremony in the future, it could very well escalate into a perilous situation.

Even If They Marry Offscreen, There Could Be Significant Repercussions
Even if their wedding takes place off-screen, the repercussions could be significant, leaving Sami in dire need of solace afterward.
Naturally, there’s also the chance that Sami will truly embrace her new identity as Mrs. Vitali, which could lead to a different kind of disaster altogether.
If Sami is mistaken and Dante is merely keeping her unaware of his own mafia affiliations, she might find herself in way over her head.
It’s possible that she could become entangled in a web of danger before she fully comprehends the risks involved-regardless, Sami has already introduced her fiancé as Dante Vitali.
This opens the door for a lot of speculation now that we are aware of his connections-is Dante Vitali trouble or genuinely the good man that Sami believes him to be?
