It is speculated that Sarah could tell Xander where she is hiding with the baby. In order to prevent her from becoming a prison inmate, he gives up her location to law enforcement. She will hate him for it, but that’s better than her being incarcerated. Perhaps one day she will realize that for once, Xander actually did the right thing.
