It is confirmed that Christian Maddox aka Evan Frears (Brock Kelly) is the father of Jan Spears’ (Heather Lindell) baby. Actor Brandon Beemer said that Shawn has bonded with the baby, but Evan could win this court battle.

DOOL spoilers reveal that Evan told Shawn that he was the father of Shawn Christian Brady. However, Shawn doesn’t think it’s true because they already had a paternity test when Jan was in prison. Of course, fans know through flashback scenes what really happened. Shawn doesn’t know this, though.

During the week of August 1, Shawn will be stunned to get a court order for a paternity test. Shawn thinks that Evan is pulling something. However, Shawn will do what the judge has instructed.

DOOL Spoilers – Shawn Brady Blindsided

When the results of the paternity test come back, Shawn is stunned. It confirms that Evan is indeed the father of Jan’s baby. While many fans assume Shawn will be relieved and hand the baby over, that’s not what happens.

By this time, Shawn has already bonded with the baby. Plus, Shawn is concerned that Evan is an unfit parent and won’t care for the baby properly. Beemer explained to Soap Opera Digest,

“Shawn doesn’t want to believe it… And it’s 100 percent hurtful to him. He’s totally bonded with this child and given up a lot for him. He’s sacrificed his marriage, put it in jeopardy because of him because he wanted to do the right thing and stick by this child.”

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – Belle Brady’s Legal Advice

Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that Shawn turns to Belle Brady (Martha Madison) for legal advice. Despite Shawn claiming that Evan is an unfit parent, Belle says there isn’t much that can be done. Shawn brings up Evan’s prison record and that he’s a murderer. Belle can see how much this is tearing Shawn apart. So, will she help Shawn fight for custody? 

DOOL Spoilers – Custody Battle?

Belle might reluctantly agree to represent Shawn in a custody battle. However, Orpheus (George DelHoyo) asks Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) for a favor. This might be that Marlena does an evaluation on Evan and determine if he can be a fit parent. If Marlena determines that Evan has a good chance of being a decent father, then that will go against Shawn since he’s not a biological parent. In fact, it sounds as if Shawn loses the custody case. Evan exits during the week of August 1 and it’s hinted that the baby leaves with him.
