Days of Our Lives Spoilers Shocker: DOOL Dumps Entire Cast & Cancels Filming – Is NBC Soap Done For Good?

Days of Our Lives spoilers tease some very bad news for fans of the long-running NBC soap opera.  According to an official DOOL report from TV Line, the soap opera has dumped the entire cast, cancelled all of their contracts, and halted filming any new episodes.

TV Line broke the news this afternoon and revealed that the shocking casting news has come about during intense negotiations between the soap, Corday, and NBC.

While Days of Our Lives has not been officially canceled, yet, the future of the soap opera is bleak.  Even if a renewal agreement is met, over half of the cast could walk, if not all.

Days Of Our Lives Canceled?

TV Line explains, “If NBC does renew Days, production is expected to resume in March. But by releasing the contracted cast members from from their commitment to the show, producers have no guarantee who — if anyone — will return.”

Of course, Days of Our Lives shoots scenes almost eight months in advance, so even though filming has halted now, NBC still has new episodes to air up until at least mid summer of 2020.  How many of the cast members are willing to go months without a paycheck though?  And, if several cast members do walk and the soap opera loses some of its big names, then a lot of fans will probably walk as well.

Entire Days of Our Lives Cast Dropped From Contracts!

Interestingly, the mass firing and pending cancellation comes the same week as Days of Our Lives’ shocking and unprecedented time jump, which seems to be a hail mary to try and save the struggling soap opera.

How fans react to the big time jump, could actually sway TPTB to renew the soap opera or cancel it all together.  So far, the time jump has received mixed reviews, but definitely has been drumming up quite a bit of publicity and chatter on the internet and social media.
