He was quick to state that Lani wouldn’t be able to re-enter the police force because of her criminal record, too.

Eli’s painted a positive picture of things. While Lani is in jail, it sounds like time is moving quickly and the couple is managing to stay close. Things could be better, but they could also be worse.

Still, if something bad has happened to Lani, whether she’s suffered multiple attacks by prison mates or a sexual assault, Eli likely wouldn’t bring it up to his grandparents. After all, they are older, and he wouldn’t want to stress them out. Even if the super couple was struggling to keep their marriage together, as the time apart has to be hard, he’d likely keep quiet about it during a short visit, even if it may turn into an extended stay.

Could Elani break up before the holidays? Maybe something happens in jail and Lani is forced to extend her prison term. Perhaps Eli comes back to Salem on his own with the twins?
