Days Of Our Lives Spoilers: The Ring Is The Thing-Another Stefano AI Chip In His Ring?

Days of Our Lives spoilers and updates tease the ring is the thing-the thing that’s making EJ DiMera (Dan Feurreriegel) channel his father Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo).

Is there another Stefano AI chip in his ring-the thing that Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton) referred to as Stefano’s “essence”?

The First “Stefano’s Essence” Was A Brain Chip Implanted In Steve Johnson

The first “Stefano’s Essence” was an AI brain chip implanted in Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) that turned him into what some people called “Steveano”.

That has been a few years back now, and once the chip was removed, Chad DiMera (Conner Floyd) and Tony DiMera (Thaao Penghlis) burned it in an ashtray.

At the time, Rolf soon had to go on the run again, and didn’t try to revive Stefano in any way; and then, there was the imprisonment of the DiMera’s in the crypt, and Stefano’s bones were found.

Rolf had some explaining to do , which he did, and at some point afterwards when all the DiMeras were safe, EJ started wearing Stefano’s ring.

And wearing his ring did strange things to EJ-and Susan Banks (Stacy Haiduk) started feeling Stefano’s presence, and Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) started having nightmares!

There’s Been A Definite Change In EJ During The Times When He’s Worn The Ring

There’s been a definite change in EJ during the times when he’s worn the ring-it’s like even though he has EJ’s memories and EJ’s plans, he seems influenced by Stefano.

It’s as if Stefano’s spirit lives in the ring and when EJ puts it on, he’s inhabited by Stefano-is it because of an AI chip that controls the wearer?

That sounds just like something Stefano himself could have done-with Rolf’s help, of course-perhaps Rolf designed a spare chip that didn’t have to be in the brain!

Knowing he couldn’t save his longtime master any other way and the first chip was destroyed, he put his “essence” into his ring-that sounds just like something Rolf would do!

EJ Becomes Turbo Diabolical And Cruel, Even To Family Members

Not to say the DiMeras aren’t a dysfunctional bunch anyway, but when EJ’s under the influence of Stefano’s ring, he’s diabolical, and cruel, even to family members.

EJ wouldn’t have put Coraseal pills tainted with arsenic in them in Holly Jonas’ (Ashley Puzemis) as himself. Nor would he have done the things that his son Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) holds against him so much.

It’s as if that ring has Stefano’s control reaching out into the person who wears it, and it changes them. But EJ won’t give up the power of the ring and the influence of his father, not to anyone, for any reason!
