Days of Our Lives spoilers tease that Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) has only just returned to Salem, but her world is about to be torn upside-down. As viewers know, Stephanie’s mom, Dr. Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) was recently kidnapped by Orpheus (George DelHoyo) and left to die in an explosion along with Dr. Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) and Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow). Luckily, they were rescued in time but that was just the beginning of Orpheus’ plan.

Orpheus poisoned Kayla, Marlena, and Kate with a serum that apparently has no antidote. According to Orpheus, all three women will die a slow, horrible death. All three women have already begun to develop symptoms and things will only get worse from there. This is all part of Orpheus’ revenge on Stephanie’s father Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) as well as John Black (Drake Hogestyn) and Roman Brady (Josh Taylor). But Steve hasn’t yet told Stephanie about her mother’s illness. This will likely only serve to anger Stephanie, who has already had a few issues with her father since her return to Salem.

Ever since she returned to Salem, Stephanie and Steve have butted heads. First, she accused him of being too overprotective when she was set to meet with an anonymous client. The client turned out to be Paulina Price (Jackee Harry). Then Steve kept the truth about Kayla’s kidnapping from her until after Kayla was rescued. And once she finds out about Kayla’s poisoning, she’ll be kept in the dark once again. Stephanie will surely demand that Steve be upfront and honest with her going forward. But even more importantly, Stephanie will find herself completely shaken once she realizes just how serious her mother’s condition really is.
