Even though she claimed to have changed, she has said that before. It’s understandable why Steve didn’t believe it.

DOOL Spoilers – Unexpected Apology

When Ava was trying to fire off an angry text to Rafe, she was interrupted by Steve. He asked who she was texting that message to. Ava and many viewers expected Steve to say what he always says when encountering Ava. However, he seems to have changed his mind about both Ava and Bonnie Lockhart (Judi Evans). He actually apologized to Ava and explained why he was wrong. That wasn’t the end of the conversation, though.

Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that Steve went a step further and asked how Ava’s romance with Rafe was going. She didn’t give him details but Steve already knew due to Ava talking out loud when she was typing the text message. Steve encouraged Ava to trust the man she loved as well as her best friend, Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker).

DOOL Spoilers – Future Friendship?

Speaking to Soap Opera Digest, Braun explained why Ava even bothered to listen to Steve. After all, they don’t exactly have the best history. The actress replied,

“She trusts him. He knows her. So when he sits down and gives her advice, she knows it’s coming from an honest and genuine place. He advises her not to allow her possessive and obsessive tendencies to take over because Rafe is a good guy.”

Perhaps this is why Ava moves out and ends the relationship — because she knows that she’s reaching that point. It will be interesting to see if Steve and Ava could be friends one day. Despite their history, strangers things have happened in Salem. During the past year, we have seen a lot of odd friendships and relationships develop, so it’s not that far-fetched. We will have to keep watching the NBC soap to find out what happens next.
