Days Of Our Lives Spoilers: – Joey Was Incarcerated For The Murder Of Ava Vitali
Longtime Days of Our Lives viewers will recall that Joey was incarcerated for the murder of Ava Vitali, (Tamara Braun) his father’s former lover, and Tripp Dalton’s (Lucas Adams) mother. Of course, Days of Our Lives viewers and Philip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson) know that Ava is not all that dead! Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) knows Ava is alive but isn’t telling anyone, not even Brady Black (Eric Martsolf)!
Ava, as many viewers suspected, was one of the individuals brought back to life by Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (William Utay) and housed in the warehouse in Nashville, Tennessee which was also his laboratory to perform his many experiments and create his many serums. This may be where he created the Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo) “essence” chip that was implanted into Steve’s brain last year as well. Soon, more Salemites will know Ava’s alive – including Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) and Sarah Horton, (Linsey Godfrey) who have been investigating her as Philip’s secret partner who has been laundering Titan Industries money! The Day Of Days Winter Preview Promo also shows someone else will find out Ava is alive, in the most unexpected of ways – Steve and Kayla!
DOOL Spoilers – Ava Vitali Cannot Stay Away From Steve Johnson, And Joey Will Be Freed
Ava apparently will not be able to stay away from Steve, and will break into Kayla’s condo with Steve unawares! Kayla will be facing Steve, and the Christmas tree behind him when Ava sneaks out of the bedroom (presumably) in a negligee! She says “Hi, Kayla”, and Kayla rushes towards her! Steve then prevents Kayla from killing Ava all over again by strangulation! This may be how Joey gets released – and possibly even his record expunged! After all, he is not guilty of murder if his murder victim is walking around alive! Joey is shown sitting in his prison cell when a prison official comes in and tells him he’s been released.

Steve and Kayla are there to bring their boy home, and there is a big family group hug! Joey will be happy, relieved, and maybe just a little bit angry when he finds out the reason for his release – if there had been some way of knowing Ava was alive, he wouldn’t have wasted so many years of his life behind bars! It will probably be best if Steve and Kayla keep Joey away from Ava because he will have years of resentment built up against her. The last thing he needs is to kill her for real this time and go back to prison again!
